Leadership and Management in the EYFS

 Develop your leadership and management skills and enhance your supervision techniques 

Leading a team is a tough job. You need to manage performance, but take people with you. You must set high standards and be in control, but also encourage and develop staff. Using a coaching approach expands thinking, deepens understanding and develops self-efficacy. It’s a challenging and supportive partnership which benefits both the leader and the setting by improving performance and well-being.  This course will assist you to develop your leadership and management skills and enhance your supervision techniques. The session will be a mix of input and practical activities enabling you to practice essential skills, reflect on what you do and develop your practice as a leader or manager.

 

Delegates will have opportunities to:

  • Consider how to build a team including managing change, motivation and delegation

  • Explore how to foster a growth mindset in their team

  • Use a coaching approach to ensure the effectiveness of supervision

  • Practice skills such as listening, questioning and giving feedback

  • Consider the use of self-evaluation and review to improve practice.
